Maes Rent & Sale and Dinolift Elevating Niche Solutions in Belgium

Groep Maes, a Belgian leader in aerial work platforms, stands out by focusing on niche markets. Its new partnership with Dinolift underscores this dedication and highlights its distinctive approach in Belgium.

Maes Rent & Sale, part of Groep Maes, a Belgian company renowned for its vast selection of aerial work platforms and mobile tower cranes, strongly focuses on niche markets. This emphasis sets the firm apart from its competitors and showcases the synergy of its partnership with Dinolift as the recently established DINO distributor in Belgium.

“In Belgium, several rental and sales companies are offering self-propelled platforms. However, Maes stands out as a company that has never followed others. We prefer unconventional and niche solutions. We chose Dinolift because of its distinctive product offering: a lightweight self-propelled unit with outriggers that excels in operating on slopes and challenging terrains,” explains Jan Maes, the proprietor and CEO of Maes Rent & Sale.

The self-propelled unit market in Belgium is currently oversaturated, and businesses operating in this sector often face many issues. These challenges include excessive weight, making transportation and off-road manoeuvrability problematic. In contrast, the lightweight 4×4 DINO 280RXT offers a versatile solution to customers.

He highlights that it mitigates concerns about grass damage from driving plates, the risk of tree workers getting stuck due to heavy self-propelled platforms and the challenges of accessing windows in urban environments. Furthermore, the RXT’s diverse mounting options have expanded the firm’s operational capabilities, and initial reactions have been promising.

The RXT was exhibited at Belgium’s Matexpo in September, where those who tested the machine expressed admiration for its stability and speed. Unfortunately, Maes Rent & Sale was disappointed that attendees could not test drive it during the exhibition and experience its performance on various terrains, speeds or steering capabilities.

“While we currently have one machine available for rent, upon its return, we plan to utilise it for demonstrations with our existing customers, allowing them to use it for a few days and gain a first-hand appreciation of the machine, convincing them of its potential to improve efficiency. We also have confidence in the RXT’s robust design and durability.”

Following checks by the in-house engineer, Maes Rent & Sale is confident that Dinolift’s well-designed and premium-quality hydraulic, technical and electrical systems will contribute to its reliability, minimising the likelihood of technical issues.

While this is the first RXT in operation in Belgium, it isn’t the only DINO. This collaboration means that all customers who own a DINO, regardless of its source of purchase, can now access Maes’ 24/7 service department for rapid responses and solutions. Moreover, they can benefit from an extensive spare parts inventory and a direct line to suppliers.

“Our service department is dedicated to ensuring the quickest possible response time, recognising that time equals money in our industry. In the past, we’ve had external customers who purchased platforms from our competitors reach out to us, seeking a solution. They’ve been told the problem can’t be solved for at least three weeks simply because our competitors couldn’t spare the time.”

Dinolift and Maes Rent & Sale align in their commitment to a customer-centric approach, emphasising flexibility and recognising the significance of local distributors, particularly in their endeavours to enhance brand visibility in Europe.

Janne Viinanen, a Sales Representative at Dinolift, concludes by highlighting the pivotal role played by its distributors in disseminating products. He says, “Our distributors know the market and understand what sells. Their valuable feedback guides our continuous improvement efforts, enhancing our standing as manufacturers.”
